Hospital Service Videos

Over the years we have been lucky enough to produce various kinds of videos for the hospital industry. Here is a collection of a few of them.

Case Studies

Client: Emory Hospital

Here the client wanted a fun, simple video to illustrate “Bad Customer Service”. We used some real employees, improv and improv actors to help develop the idea. This was a two day shoot.

Client: Emory Hospital

Here is the other video illustrating good customer service and what happens when patients receive it.

Client: SONARconnects and Pine State

While not a hospital service video we wanted to illustrate here a higher production style shoot. Here the client wanted a very professional series of 30-second commercials, here is one example. This project was scripted, cast and rehearsed prior to the shoot.

Client: SONARconnects and Eastside Medical Center

The cleint wanted a video to be showcased at the hospital. We wrote, directed and produced this 10 minute project. The shoot was three days and took place over several locations in this hopital and one day at a house. We cast actors and also edited in actual testimonials.

Client: SONARconnects and Redmond Regional

Here the client wanted something fun to showcase for “Heart Month”. They also wanted something they felt would boost moral and help their hospital stand out. We have produced many of these kind of videos, here is one example.

Client: Emory Hospital

The client wanted a simple video highlighting and showcasing their employees. This was a one day shoot.

Client: Commercial Lending Solutions

While not a hospital video, this concept came out of our “improvAstorm” idea creation process. The cleint really wante to stand out and after choosing over fifteen ideas we developed a of them. IN this one, Loan harmony, we hosted an audition and the client helped cast and produce along side with us.

Meet the Director of “Crowscare”::: Jay Holloway

RSVP

Coming to the Get Connected screening room… Crowscare! Meet filmmaker Jay Holloway!

Are you looking forward to having Crowscare screened at “Get Connected”?

Yes! This will be my first time attending.  I have a great appreciation for Get Connected as both an event and as a way to network in the growing film community here in Atlanta, and I’m thrilled to show Crowscare! Hopefully the audience will share this excitement once they see this throwback to classic B-horror films!

Can you tell us your past experience in the industry?

I started off making films in college and now I’m lucky enough to work on numerous projects with talented individuals.  I worked as a grip on my friend’s film called Jake and Julie vs. the Boogeyman! and later went on to directing my first short called Werebum, which was produced by an Atlanta-based company called MonsterBuster Entertainment that specializes in horror films.

So… What is Crowscare about?

Crowscare is an homage to the horror films of the 1970′s and 80s.  May, a college student, takes an unusual job house-sitting for a couple while they’re away on vacation. While at first the job appears easy, it isn’t long before things take a turn for the worse and May finds herself at the mercy of both a deranged man AND a living scarecrow.

How did you come up with the idea?

I wrote the script for Crowscare during my senior year in college. I drew most of my inspiration from films such as William Wesley’s “Scarecrows” and Frank De Felitta’s “Dark Night of the Scarecrow”. From there it was a massive effort from myself to spearhead the production and get the film shot!

How do you go about making  Crowscare?

Crowscare was shot over two weekends in April 2011.  Believe it or not, the budget was no more than $400, with most of that going towards food and make-up effects. We also had a table read and a few crew meetings to discuss locations, special effects and script.   We were very well prepared, which allowed us to hammer through production as efficiently as possible.

Tell us about your cast and crew!

I cannot stress how happy I was with the effort put forth by the cast & crew! Keyla McClure – my Casting Director – is absolutely remarkable and without Fred Grant’s great choreography I wouldn’t have been able to shoot the cool fight scenes.  Ricky Hess, my special effects artist, was able to create some fantastic creature and blood effects that really brought the film to life.  Quyen Tran stepped into the role of sound designer and brought some amazingly clear and crisp sound that really enhance the atmosphere.  This is one of the many times I’ve worked with my buddy, Torey Haas, who as the Director of Photography had an outstanding sense for shot placement!  As for the cast, Rachel DeJulio, Andy Fleming, Samantha Simmons and Nathan DeRussy all brought remarkable acting to their roles.

What do you think audiences will enjoy about your film?

I think the audience will sense how much fun we had making the film!

Any war stores from the set?

Everyone got along on the set and we had a blast!

Any tips you can share with others about the production process?

Make sure that you keep your cast and crew updated on any changes you make during production. Also, establish clear communication with you crew so that there are no problems. Take time to study your script and storyboards with your Assistant Director, Director of Photography and Sound Editor as this will come in handy when you are shooting and going into the post-production stage. Finally, have fun! Don’t think of filmmaking as a job but as way to create your vision for people to see!

Meet the Director of Mario & Luigi:: Torey Haas

RSVP

Coming to the Get Connected screening room… Mario & Luigi! Meet filmmaker Torey Haas!

Are you looking forward to having  Mario & Luigi screened at “Get Connected”?

I am definitely looking to screening “Mario And Luigi” at “Get Connected”! While the movie has played to a large audience before, this will be the first time it will play to a crowd consisting entirely of industry peers. I live to see audience reactions, and I’m curious to see how the movie will be received and if it will differ from previous screenings.

Can you tell us your past experience in the industry?

I graduated with a MA in Film Production from Georgia State University in 2009, and since then I’ve worked as a freelance editor and compositor in the Atlanta area. I’ve created graphics and effects for numerous commercials for Cartoon Network and the Weather Channel, and last year I edited the animated holiday special The Elf on the Shelf presents: An Elf’s Story, which premiered on CBS last November to very high ratings. It was also sold out at Barnes & Noble and Target and even hit #1 on iTunes the week before Christmas, which was surreal to say the least.

I also write and direct my own short films through my production company MonsterBuster Entertainment; we held our first film festival last November at Atlanta’s Landmark Midtown Art Theater, and we’re currently developing more shorts, a web series, and a feature.

So… What is  Mario & Luigi about?

“Mario and Luigi” tells the story of Jerry, a hapless young blue collar whose life is turned upside down when two gangsters named Mario and Luigi break into his apartment and threaten his life one fateful night. While at first Jerry believes himself innocent, as the night progresses he discovers that he may in fact be guilty of a most reprehensible action after all, and Mario and Luigi will not be the last of his uninvited guests…

A friend of mine described the movie as a cross between Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Pulp Fiction with video game references, and I have to say I definitely agree with that statement.

How did you come up with the idea?

I wish I could say I was brilliant enough to come up with the idea on my own, but the story was the creation of local playwright and actor Greg Garrison, who originally wrote the play for The Collective Project, Inc.’s show The Theory of Everything back in Fall of 2010. Greg had starred in one of my short movies (“First Date”, the heartwarming story of a boy who goes out with his dream girl only to find himself at odds with her monstrous dad) and when he approached me about directing a film adaptation of his play I immediately agreed; I had seen the play and thought it was hilarious!

How do you go about making the movie?

I pretty much just went out and did it! Like I said I have my own production company, and I’m blessed to know so many wonderful and talented people willing to sacrifice their weekends to make movies. “Mario and Luigi” was actually a relatively inexpensive production; since it was based on a stage play the bulk of the narrative consisted of three actors and one location- very manageable indeed. Greg also came on as the producer of the movie, and he was invaluable in securing actors and props.

Tell us about your cast and crew!

I couldn’t ask for a better group to work with- really. The cast consisted of several members of The Collective (one of whom, Corey Bradberry, had also starred in the play) and a few local performers, and everybody was fantastic both on camera and off. I’m pretty much convinced that MonsterBuster Entertainment is the best crew ever- since we’re all fairly close friends who also happen to be passionate about filmmaking, our sets manage to be virtually stress-free and full of laughs while still getting the job done. Everyone was great, but I have to give a special shout-out to Nick Lauinger, the enormously talented DP; Quyen Tran, our resident “sound ninja”; Ricky Hess, our practical effects guy who built one hell of a fake door for us to kick through and explode; and Jay Holloway, who was always there to do whatever task needed to be done with a smile on his face.

What do you think audiences will enjoy about your film?

I think they’ll enjoy the script the most. It’s quite witty. I’d say more but I really don’t want to spoil anything.

Any war stories from the set?

“Mario and Luigi” consisted of four shoot days; a few minor schedule changes put us behind where we wanted to be after the first weekend, and since we were in danger of losing the location (the apartment renter’s lease was about to expire) I decided to try and catch up by making the third production day, a Sunday, a bit longer than usual. I couldn’t have picked a worse day since I ended up getting sick the Monday before, and when I say sick I mean I couldn’t get out of bed and I was continually running fevers well above one hundred degrees. By the time Sunday came along I was only sort of feeling better- I could stand up without feeling dizzy, so that was something- but since we would lose the location the following week we had to shoot regardless. The shoot day remains the most difficult day I’ve ever had on set, and honestly, most of it was a blur- my wonderful assistant director Keyla McClure kept giving me ginger ale and aspirin, and I’m convinced that was the only thing that kept me standing. Astonishingly we ended up making our day- I believe we finished only an hour or so after our scheduled wrap time, which as anyone in production knows is pretty normal.

Any tips you can share with others about the production process?

Have a good script. A good script creates a lot of enthusiasm for the project, which makes everything so much easier. Plus, it doesn’t cost anything apart from the time it takes to write it. And try not to direct when you’re recovering from some kind of death flu- that makes everything a lot more difficult.

CHANCE WHITE

Chance White is an award-winning director, cinematographer, animator, editor and a 15 year veteran of the multimedia, entertainment, film, television, and animation industry. His vast experience includes working at various production houses in Atlanta and gaining experience producing content as a Creative Lead for corporations such as Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and Motorola. White’s role in each project ranged from writing, to shooting, to directing, to animation, and to editing, and sometimes a combination of all of the above.

.

White’s passion for film began with his earliest childhood memory, seeing Return of the Jedi on the big screen. He spent countless hours watching Star Wars films on repeat and directing his own action scenes with action figures on the living room floor. This passion resulted in an obsession with narrative storytelling and a drive to create his own films. White believes that films have the power to change the way we look at the world, and ourselves, and this compels him to continue learning and bettering himself as a filmmaker.

.

In 2006, White’s first feature film, ‘Death of Seasons’ was released. The indie hit quickly garnered a cult following for it’s intense direction, compelling philosophical content, striking visual style and exemplary performances. In 2009, White founded White Flame Studios. He has since produced several award winning films and commercials, such as ‘Thesis’, ‘Breaking Ground’, ‘John Doe’, and ‘The Prince’s Perfect Party’, which will screen at the 2012 Atlanta Film Festival and the 2012 Cannes International Film Festival. White is currently involved in the hit web series ‘Remnant’, a post-apocalyptic steampunk series which he co-directed with Matthew Young and Jared Young of Brothers Young Productions. White is also currently in the pre-production phase of his second feature film.

I am the Creative Director and Owner of White Flame Studios. You can view my narrative work on my YouTube channel, and more of my commercial work on the White Flame Studios channel.

A very special presentation by Actor Derek Yates

We know a lot of you have been waiting, and we have finally set the release date to April 2, 2012 for “Your Guardian Angel” (originally performed by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus). Both the mp3 and music video will be made available on April 2nd, which is also Kevin Yates’ birthday who this song is in memory of. Kevin Yates was killed by a drunk driver on August 1, 2011.

A portion of the proceeds from the song will go to benefit 1N3, a non-profit organization started in honor of Kevin to help raise awareness about the consequences of driving under the influence. www.iam1n3.org,www.facebook.com/iam1n3

We will be providing links for you to directly be sent to iTunes and YouTube, as well as some other digital music and video distributors in order for you to both hear and see “Your Guardian Angel.”

Our hope is for this to go viral and spread the message that driving under the influence is not the right choice.

We need your help by not only purchasing your copy of “Your Guardian Angel” and watching the music video, but we also need you to Share this Event as well as Invite all of your Friends to the Event so we can reach the masses around the globe. And don’t forget your Followers on Twitter. If everyone does that, we will easily hit our goal!

Even if you are unable to purchase the song, you can still watch the music video for FREE! :)

We are hoping for the majority of the purchases and views to happen within the first two days of the release, and then from there within the first week, but of course we hope that is continues on past that as well. But don’t let that stop you from making your purchase or viewing the video after the release. This Event is just to get the word out. The song and video will always be available after April 2nd.

Thank you to everyone for your support, and we hope you will enjoy what we have in store for you!
