The Blank “Staged” readings offer an exciting opportunity for actors to get in front of working producers and professionals. Actors play characters from original scripts by talented new screenwriters. Not an audition, actors are cast for the night based on email submissions and are notified to come play a part for the readings. As they prepare for the next level of the staging process, we create an ideal environment for the screenwriters to see their words come to life and for actors to ply their craft.
LOGLINE: Opposites attract, but can they find love? A new couple is perfect for each other in every single way, except one. When together, they trigger the other to experience the complete opposite emotion, inducing heightened emotional states and situations that only few could bare.
SYNOPSIS
Allison and Donavon are in love. There is only one problem – they cannot exist in the same emotional state at the same time. From happy to sad, from passionate to lethargic, some cruel joke of the universe has brought them together only to pull them apart again. These star crossed lovers are determined to maintain their relationship, however. Through botched first dates, mistaken identity, incarceration, and an emotionally raging, giggling, tear-filled lovemaking session, the couple fight to keep their love alive. The question is–do opposites attract? Will love conquer all?
Donavon is an IT guy who is an emotional cripple and doesn’t venture out much. His roommate is an eccentric Deuce Bigelow.
Allison is a para-legal who is trying to make it in the male-dominated, cut- throat world of law practice. Her mother is her best friend constantly trying to pimp out her ovaries.
Allison and Donavon meet during a tropical storm warning while both are in a melancholy state. It’s the last time they will everthink of themselves as normal.

[DONAVON - AGE 25 - 30]
He never had a family, most of his life was pretty sad. He lost his mother when he was born. His father is in prison. He was taught a moral code by his grandparents and has an old chivalrous mentality. He lives for his business and is a bit of a hermit. He is shy and has no idea woman find him attractive. He is a hopeless romantic, longing to find the right person. All he wants is to love and be loved.
[ALLISON - AGE 25 - 30 ]
She has always had friends; however, she is a geek. She came into her beauty late in life and as a result, spent most of her time in college in a library. She has her wild side, outgoing and domineering, but she likes for men to be real men. Never having a father around made her skeptical that good men ever existed. She works so much she never finds time to date.
[TAZ - AGE 25 - 45]
He is a male chauvinistic pig. He’s 40ish but claims 30 something. If there were an Olympics for being a sex craved freak. He would take gold. He thinks woman were put on earth to please man, and, more importantly, him. He’s smart, and over confident. Donavins best friend and business partner for years. He has made it his mission to teach Don about the ways of male domination.
[MRS. MARKS - AGE 45 - 65]
She is Allison’s Mom and best friend. She is an overtly sexually aggressive woman. No matter how old she gets she knows she can get any man sleep with her. Good looking for her age, she uses sex to get what she wants. She started out as a man-hating dike, but realized she can’t stand females more. She never liked relationships, and never needed one until she got pregnant. Allison is her first child and the love of her life. More than anything, she wants a grandchild to play with. She misses being a mother.

Worked his whole in the waste and water treatment, he hates it and loves it. He thinks Donavon is trying to take his job.

Cop 1 is a young and cocky, new to the force and itching to use gadgets.

Loves his job cause he gets tips. He delivers roses and flowers, loves his job.

Hates being people’s drunken shrink, he hates drunk people, despite owning a bar.

Very bad sense of humor, and he is Alison’s mother old shrink who she stated having sex with.
